Restaking is a novel primitive in cryptoeconomic security introduced by EigenLayer, an Ethereum-based platform. Reusing ETH on the consensus layer is made possible by this primitive. In order to extend cryptoeconomic security to more apps on the network and gain extra rewards, users that stake ETH natively or with a liquid staking token (LST) can choose to participate in EigenLayer smart contracts.
